I am based in the UK and started painting from childhood, primarily self taught and always learning, refining my artistry through practice and taking on new creative challenges, I have been fortunate to be involved in the arts for most of my working life. I specialise in watercolour and acrylics, realistic contemporary as well as abstract.
I am lucky enough to be surrounded by truly beautiful landscapes. The rolling fields of Yorkshire, crisp boreal seas, rivers and lakes. As a painter of nature, I love to capture scenes of natural moments to wake up to, to calm and to bring a sense of peace.
The philosophy behind my work is to create images that people can relate to on many levels, capture your heart and imagination, to reflect upon your own sense of self, and compel the viewer to want to see more.
I also paint because its what I enjoy, playing with different medium, textures and colours. I love the challenge of having an idea, a vision in my mind and bringing it to life. It’s as honest as that really, simplicity can bring such happiness.
